It seems that air defense is the critical weak point in Ukraine's resistance. Without glide bombs, Russia would have a hard time laying down enough fire to force Ukrainian withdrawal. Plus, of course, the impact on civilian life and domestic production of incessant drone/cruise missile/ballistic missile strikes.
